I have a special bond with this machine that was my first. Here is a Ti 99 4/A with the matching tape recorder, both in box, for $30.  Good deal, if only I did not have 3 of these already :)

(quite) early production Atari VCS unit on Ebay

Look at this auction on eBay, everything looks very cool and the boxes all look great. Even though the console has 6 switches, is is not the rarest Atari VCS type around, you can tell because the box does not include the Chess symbol like this one (but $999 for an Atari VCS ....)

Regardless, I really like this lot, it is now at $65 + shipping which makes it too much for me, but it wold really look cool in a museum shelve. Surely better than my Sears 4 switches :)

nice, really nice. It is probably from 1977 or 1978.

Your '86 Chevy on your C64

One of the coolest disc I got my hands on is the ChevyTech disc for Commodore 64. Chevrolet distributed this to his dealers and prospective buyers, to help everyone tailor the latest Camaro to their taste and then create some mock up loan examples. Nowadays, we find this everywhere on the web, but back then I am sure it was pretty cool to be at home with the ability to instantly see how much one would have to pay each month to get behind the wheel of a brand new Caprice with sparkling cigarette lighters.
Very cool. of course it misses the ability to get updated prices and be alerted for specials, this would happen 10+ yeas later.
Awesome original sleeve

Press K for the serial killer car

Manual and cigarette lighter, the good old days

80s interest rate ftw

When it rains ..

It took me month to see an Atari 810 disc drive in the area, and I just found 2 in a couple of months.  Today on Craigslist ($100) you can get an Atari 800 with a 810, both with their boxes and a few other things for $100.  A tad pricey, but the presence of the boxes, that look good also, make these more valuable.  Difficult to see what are the other things included, I will try to get this lot for cheaper, then will report (if I succeed).

Cool boxed Atari 800 + 810 on Craigslist
It is still difficult to find lot of discs for the Atari it seems. Maybe the name Atari plus the fact that many games were available on carts was making that computer too much of a game machine, hence people favoring carts.  On the other end, the C64 was a game machine, and I can find games everywhere.
Mystery remains.

April's fool on CL

There is a cool April's fool on CL today. A simple posting that could be seen coming from an uninformed seller having a pic of a lot of Atari carts for sale. Looking at the picture, you can distinguish the famous shape of Air Raid, that is the holy grail of Atari collecting.

Many dreams of retirement trailers in Mesa,AZ might  crushed.
